Privacy policy

The short version

Cue & Paddle is a publisher, not a retailer. We do not sell anything, we do not take payments, and we do not have accounts or logins. The only personal information we ever receive directly is what you type into our contact form.

Information you give us

If you use our contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you enter. We use that solely to read and reply to your message.

Messages are delivered to our email inbox and retained there as ordinary correspondence. We do not add contact form submissions to a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or share them with third parties.

The form includes basic anti-spam measures: a hidden field that automated scripts fill in and humans do not, a check on how long the form took to complete, and a limit on how many submissions can come from one network address in an hour. Your IP address is used only for that rate limit, held in memory, and not stored permanently.

Information collected automatically

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how people arrive at the site. It collects information such as the pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, what kind of device you use, and which site referred you. We use it in aggregate; we are not trying to identify individual readers and we have no way of doing so.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. You can block them with your browser settings, a content blocker, or Google’s opt-out add-on. The site works normally either way.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, browser information and the pages requested. These exist for security and diagnostics and are retained by the provider under their own policies.

Affiliate links

Our buy buttons link to Amazon and carry a tag identifying us as the referrer. When you click one, Amazon may set cookies to attribute a subsequent purchase to this site, and your activity on Amazon is then governed by Amazon’s privacy policy rather than ours.

We never see your order, your payment details, or your Amazon account. We receive only aggregate reporting of commissions earned. Full details of the commercial relationship are on our affiliate disclosure page.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. The cookies that may be set while you browse come from Google Analytics, and from Amazon when you click through a buy link. Blocking or deleting either has no effect on how the site works.

Children

This site is intended for adults buying game room equipment. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, email us and we will delete it.

Your choices

• Do not use the contact form if you would rather not share your name and email — nothing else on the site asks for personal information.
• Block analytics cookies through your browser or a content blocker.
• Ask us to delete your message. Email contact@cueandpaddle.com and we will remove your correspondence from our inbox.
• Ask what we hold. Same address. Since the only thing we hold is your message, this is usually a short conversation.

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA — including rights of access, correction and deletion. We will honor any such request; email us at the address above.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles information we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. We will not make a change that applies retroactively to information already collected.
